Skip Murphy and Family at Home in Redding 2004

I have lived in Redding for more than 30 years, and I love this area. 3 generations of my family live here. My daughters live here and attended colleges nearby. My wife Karry has taught school here for more than 29 years. I worked for Kodak before becoming a Realtor, and I know a lot about photography and computers. For fun, I like to garden, ski at the Ski Park, work out at Redding's YMCA, and play electronic music with my friend Craig Padilla. The slowly evolving ambient music you hear at the first page of this website is me and Craig, and if you like that kind of music you can hear more at: http://www.CraigPadilla.com .

I genuinely enjoy my work, and I spend a lot of time learning how to be a better Realtor. Real Estate is a complicated business, but in the end it all comes down to people.

My roots in our community run deep. I remember well when Redding was only a small town, and when your personal reputation for honesty and responsibility meant everything, and everyone knew you by your word. I still feel that way. Redding has grown up, yet I still work from that central belief. I am still that small town guy, at home in my small town of Redding.

On TV. Shown here with my friend Craig Padilla at Redding's PBS station KIXE on air for a pledge drive. "Folks, become a member of KIXE, and I pledge to never wear this goofy tie again!" I'm a longtime member, and KIXE is one of Redding's cultural resources I am happy to assist.

Member of Friends of the Library.

Shop ReddingI am a Chamber of Commerce member. I also serve on the Pro-Standards Committee for the Shasta Board of Realtors.

Music! Here I am backstage at Turtle Bay Museum in Redding in 2004, getting ready for a keyboard performance at the Cafe. This patio is at the base of the new Calatrava designed Sundial Bridge, and we performed an original piece of music named after the bridge. You can purchase recordings of my collaborations with Craig, and also some other local artists, at his website http://www.CraigPadilla.com

I really love our new museum and arboretum. I have no doubt that the bridge and museum will become symbols of Redding's new renaissance.

Hiking. Here I am at Burney Falls, a well known State Park located not too far east of Redding. Like many folks, I think one of the best things about living in the Northstate is that you are so close to so many natural wonders. Hiking and traveling in the bountiful outdoors around here helps keep me centered.

Travel. My family and I at the base of the Statue of Liberty. I have traveled all over the US and parts of the rest of the world. I love the way travel broadens your horizons, but my favorite part of any journey is coming home to Redding.

Me at Monument Valley in  Spring of 2004. Nice, but not as nice as Redding!

A wise person once said "People don't care what you know until they know you care."

That wisdom is a core value of our team. My job is to see to it that everyone on my team is team is guided by our values.
