Like everywhere, we often gripe about our government, but the good folks at City Hall (usually) make me proud to be a citizen.

For the most part, Shasta County runs well, and you will find our Sheriff and the various Elected Officials to be down-to-earth people in touch with the needs of our region.

http://www.nps.gov/whis Whiskeytown Lake Shasta is larger and more well known, with its 365 miles of shoreline, but Whiskeytown Lake is just 10 minutes west of Redding and is hard to beat for clear water, stunning vistas, and wet fun.
