Whiskeytown

The old mining town called Whiskeytown is actually at the bottom of this lovely lake. Built for water storage and power generation in the early 1960s, this lake is now a favorite recreation area for Redding locals and tourists. Just about a 10 minute drive from greater Redding. Smaller and cooler than Shasta Lake, it usually remains full, and has a different ambience than it's more well-known counterpart lake.
